As we all know ceramic fuse is one of the most important and applied electrical appliances. Unlike the moulded case Circuit Breaker, it breaks the circuit by melting the fuse element. The fuse element or link is melted by the heat caused by overload when the current exceeds the rated value.

This ceramic fuse works for rated voltage DC1000W and rated current up to 600A. Its time constant is one to three ms, and the rated breaking capacity is greater than 33kA. This fuse has been widely used in overload and short circuit protection of electric installation. It conforms to IEC 60269 standards and by all the ratings is at the leading edge of technological development in the world.

Due to the special design, this ceramic fuse provides high rupturing capacity combined with low temperature rise and low power dissipation under normal load conditions. The fuse element of the variable cross-section or, in some case, simply a wire, is encapsulated in a pipe made of high strength ceramic. The pipe or the fuse-tube is filled with special quartz sands in a particular density, acting as an arc-extinguish media.

Fuse base supports the fuse element. Together with fuse element, ceramic fuse is designed to protect the electric circuit from overload or short-circuit in industrial equipment and home appliances. The base is made of heat-resistant plastic, which guarantees safe operation at high current loads and high ambient temperatures. The main consideration in developing the new fuse base is safety and ease of installation. This ceramic fuse is well protected against accidental contact, since an integrated plastic cover protects the terminals. This also makes it easier to install since there is no need to mount an additional safety cover.
